Watched 'THE LINGUINI INCIDENT' (Kanopy- borrowed yesterday). Such an odd subject for a film and that makes it almost watchable. A kooky waitress and a sleazy English bartender conspire to rob a trendy, Lower East Side bar/restaurant. When it fails, they bet that the waitress can escape from a locked mailbag in a tank of water...just like Harry Houdini; with Rosanna Arquette, David Bowie, Andre Gregory, Buck Henry, Marlee Matlin. The only unanswered question is why on earth would Bowie become involved with this obvious misstep?

Watched 'WHITE CHICKS' (Hoopla). Another absurd premise: Two black FBI agents try to 'pass' as two hot white 'society women'. The climax occurs at a Labor Day Bash in The Hamptons. Directed & written by The Wayans Brothers (IN LIVING COLOR). 3 wins & 13 nominations. "41" Metascore and I would put it at "73".

From Variety: "As lowbrow comedies go, it pretty much delivers."
