740am (1-LB: Guavadew). 10am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 115pm (1-LB: Guavadew). 255pm (1/2-LB: Guavadew). 535pm (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 815pm (1-LB: Guavadew).
Up 615am: Windy with the threat of strong thunderstorms this afternoon with temps to mid 70's. At noon a Tornado Watch was issued until 9pm, but the radar map is not nearly as lethal as it looked last weekend.
Watched 'THE IDES OF MARCH' (Amazon Prime). A film about the slimy nature of American politics that tries to demonstrate how far we have sunk. Winning is the only goal and morality and ethics are out the window. Loyalty to the candidate is now worth far more than any moral principle. The film's message is kind of dated since sex with a young and attractive intern would probably not end a political career in the Trump Era. The level of accountability for a candidate in contemporary America is so low that it's comical; with Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Jeffrey Wright. Nominated for an Oscar; 9 wins & 36 nominations. "67" Metascore and I would go to "79". Directed and co-written by George Clooney and based on a play 'FARRAGUT NORTH' by Beau Willimon who also was a co-writer on the film.
More 'ADOLESCENCE' (Netflix). The case involves 'bullying' and 'Incel' which stands for 'involuntary celibacy'. Thirteen year olds obsessing over their sex lives? Filming locations include South Kirkby, South Elmsall and Sheffield in Yorkshire. Minsthorpe Community College in South Elmsall was used as a location for the school scenes in Episode 2. It's in northern England, south of Leeds and north of Sheffield. The absence of music and sound during the dramatic parts really heightens the tension. Is the thirteen year old suspect a psycho or just a bright kid lashing out? I shut it down 8 minutes into episode #4.
1235pm: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. Today I'll oil the deck, but I'm going to cut back on the liquid to prevent slippage. [It seemed to do the trick; smooth not slick]
120pm: FIVE MILES TO 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; a complete 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'- Cold Plunge!
Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps.
Reading 'THE WASP FACTORY'
435pm: TWO MILES TO 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; more TIG NOTARO on 'BLOCKS'.
Partly sunny with dangerous high winds. Freaky & certainly gusts over 40 mph, but we missed the thunderstorms. Snow flurries are predicted for tonight.
1240pm: In the tub with 'THE WASP FACTORY' & a SciFi anthology and listening to YES Playlist; CHARLIE MUSSELWHITE Playlist.
More TIG NATARO on 'BLOCKS'.
More 'ADOLESCENCE' (Netflix). Wow, what an ending! I didn't even know that I was watching the final episode. The kid really was a psycho and the family seemed to realize this. A very grim and sad tale, but not sure about the definition of 'nonce'. In British slang it refers to a child sex offender.
Began 'MOGURA' (Netflix). I shut it down 14 minutes into the first episode. A Japanese detective goes undercover to shut down a cannabis farm run by a group of rappers. Do the Japanese still criminalize weed? {Yes!}
