Watched 'COPENHAGEN' (last pick of the month at Hoopla). What an odd film. It's about a 28 year old immature guy who goes to Denmark to deliver a letter from his recently deceased father to his grandfather. He's never met granddad and he learns that his grandfather was a Nazi during WWII and the letter was meant to sever all ties with granddad. The young man has met a sexy girl to help him translate but soon learns that the girl is only fourteen. Then he is faced with two dilemmas. How does he deal with the fact that both his father and grandfather were horrible parental models and how can he keep from having sex with a sultry and willing fourteen year old? Clearly difficult subjects, yet the film delivered. "71" Metascore and I would boost that to "84".  

Watched 'MISS ITALIA MUSTN'T DIE' (Netflix). New ideas about sex & gender will either enhance the premise of 'Miss Italy' or sexual diversity will sink the entire notion. The film shows 'the old and the ugly' as they defend and promote 'traditional' ideas about beauty. They encourage ideas from the past rather than addressing the sexual landscape of today. This is the dichotomy of the documentary and I'll bet the real story is even more vile than what was presented. Definitely worth a look.  

***I placed my rice order with Amazon and I was surprised that it had not gone up in price due to the tariffs.  I heard that most of America's rice is not home grown and that is probably the most surprising.
