Up 620am: A mix of sun & clouds, breezy with temps to mid 60's. 

The PC required a 'restart' and it only took a moment. However, at 1030am I noticed that the red light on the router is now 'on'.  Everything is running AOK, so what changed?  

I hit the dandelions out front with the grass whip to marginal effect. They just won't stay down, but I'm learning to live with it. 

Watched 'BULLET TRAIN EXPLOSION' (Netflix). There is a bomb on a Japanese bullet train and authorities try to devise a plan to save the passengers while the train barrels down the track at breakneck speed. It's the essence of 'cheeseball entertainment' and no new ground is broken. I was amazed that the monitoring equipment used at the high-speed control center seemed so ancient. You expected to see the 'Radio Shack' logo on their computers and electronic paraphernalia.  "62" Metascore and I would go to "73". 

More 'HIGH TIDES' (Netflix). I shut it down 15 minutes into episode #7. This has got all of the  exaggerated emotionalism and melodramatic situations that are found in only the best of soaps.

1145am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then Planet Fitness. I'll hit Schnucks on the way home for beer, soda, apples, 2 liter Canada Dry.

1230pm: To Planet Fitness...45"Cross,  45"Treadmill,  30" Recumbent Bike, 30" Treadmill,  15"Cross...ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES; watched 'THE LONG GOODBYE' (Amazon Prime)- Directed by ROBERT ALTMAN. "87" Metascore and that's about were I'd put it; began a 'BLACK MIRROR' (Netflix)- Recasting an old movie in 'real time.

Reading 'VALIS' 

545pm:  In the tub with 'VALIS' and listening to ELVIN JONES Playlist; began DAVE SMITH & DOUGLAS MURRAY on J.R.R.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
