Up 6am {no alarm}. Mostly sunny with temps to upper 70's. 

Watched 'BORREGO' (Netflix- leaving soon). A female botanist is at work in the desert when she becomes involved in a failed drug smuggling operation. A plane drops out of the sky and the plant scientist becomes a captive of the drug running pilot. It's pretty tame and about what you would expect- 'The Perils of Pauline' miles from The Salton Sea.  The movie was filmed in Borrego Springs, California and the Tabernas Desert in Almeria, Spain. In Spanish 'borrego' refers to a young sheep or lamb  {less than one year old} and could also describe someone who is docile or submissive.

Watched 'WE GROWN NOW' (Netflix). A bittersweet profile of living in Chicago's Cabrini Green public housing during the 90's as seen through the eyes of two ten year old boys. Heartfelt & earnest, yet it's so well done that it's never cloying or sentimental. 14 wins & 13 nominations. "76" Metascore and I would boost that to "84".

More 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Finished episode #4. It's still not coming together, but mood & atmosphere are more important than the story and the presentation is so quirky that it works. I'll miss this one when I'm through. 

Degunked Bong- It was clogged completely & I used a ten penny nail to dig out the gunk after soaking the metal pipe section in alcohol. 

1pm- 2pm: Mowed & swept & removed the leaves that had collected under the hose rack.

More 'SIGNS' (Netflix). I shut it down with 17 minutes remaining in episode #6 and only two hours left in the series. I might binge the whole thing tomorrow morning.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.
