Wrote up 'THE TRISTAN BETRAYAL' by Robert Ludlum from the blog. Shocked to learn that it was written by a ghost writer and only based on Ludlum's notes. Was this why I loved it?

Watched 'DEN OF THIEVES' (Netflix). Another superior bank robbery film. Premise: The Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve is also tasked with destroying old US currency. The serial numbers are erased from the system, but if they can get to the old bills before they are destroyed they will have untraceable cash. They stage another bank robbery to conceal the heist at the Federal Reserve. Some great gunplay and car chases, but the dramatic tension is mostly how the pieces of the caper come together. It looks like the sequel takes place in London, and this time it's diamonds; with Gerard Butler, Pablo Schreiber, O'Shea Jackson Jr. (son of ICE CUBE), 50 Cent. "49" Metascore and I think this film was seriously underrated. I'd give it an "82".  

Finished 'WOMAN OF THE DEAD' (Netflix). I had given the series a 'one thumb up' on season #1, but I gave season #2 'two thumbs up'. Beautiful scenery and impeccable cinematography raised my satisfaction level.  

1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for an afternoon at Planet Fitness.

Read various stuff (PK Dick/ Le Guin) & selected 'THE DIFFERENCE ENGINE' by WILLIAM GIBSON & BRUCE STERLING.

420pm: I called Tony and he said that the parts for the treadmill are ordered and he will call or text and come over in the afternoon when they show up. The parts are coming from Wisconsin.   

545pm:  In the tub with 'THE DIFFERENCE ENGINE' and listening to JACO PASTORIOUS Playlist; JETHRO TULL- 'This Was' 40th Deluxe/ 'Benefits Deluxe.

Finished 'TUESDAYS WITH STORIES'.

Began 'NARCOS: Mexico' (Netflix- season #3). I shut it down 11 minutes into episode #2. I remember nothing of season #1 and #2, but this is a high quality series- Well written and beautiful to look at.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
