Watched 'COURT: State vs. A Nobody' (Netflix). The movie was filmed in Visakhapatnam, India which is on the central eastern coast of India on the Bay of Bengal.  "The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 was enacted to provide a robust legal framework for the protection of children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography, while safeguarding the interest of the child at every stage of the judicial process." The film is about a nineteen year old Indian boy who is accused of rape because a video showed him entering a room with his seventeen year old girlfriend.  The girl's father is an important figure in the town and employs illegal means to 'protect the family honor'. The film demonstrates that the POCSO Act can be improperly applied. One of the most satisfying Bollywood films that I've seen. It's a tasteful mix of comedy, drama, music, dance, and social issues. The lawyer quoted $50,000 rupees for his fee and that's $584 usd.

Watched 'BROKEN MIRRORS' (Hoopla). Another film about fathers' unrelentingly conservative views on how their teenage daughters should look and behave. An Israeli military officer tries to stop his daughter's pattern of  'acting out', but only makes her more defiant. The daughter hit mom with the car while mom was trying to teach her to drive. The accident puts mom in a coma, and dad feels that this sin is too grave and punishment cannot come from him. The daughter goes out of her way to punish herself by running away and indiscriminately throwing herself at inappropriate men. A slightly better than average film about a very difficult and intriguing subject.   

1215pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to walk to Washington Park and pick up a loaf of bread at Fairhills on the way home. Rain is in the forecast for the next few days, so this is the last chance for a walk in the neighborhood. No word from Tony.

***I called Martinek's office to schedule a checkup for 2026. The phone gave me a message saying 'I was not connected to a network'. I did a 'restart' and I was able to place the call.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
