Watched 'FIRST THEY KILLED MY FATHER' (Netflix). The film is set during the initial stages of the Khmer Rouge takeover of Cambodia after the Americans pulled out of Vietnam. It's a harrowing tale of an urban, middle class family who are driven out of their apartment and forcibly relocated to various workcamps in the country. It's all seen through the eyes of the seven year old daughter. The film is a stark and powerful anti-war statement. Nominated for 1 BAFTA Award; 9 wins &29 nominations. "72" Metascore and I would go to "80". Angelina Jolie wrote the screenplay and directed the film. 

More 'YOUNG WALLANDER: Killer's Shadow' (Netflix). I shut it down 28 minutes into episode #5 and I'll finish the series tonight.

1155am- 1220pm: Ace on Jefferson CONFUSION. I needed to have an employee cut the plastic on a big stack of mulch bags and we got into a discussion of 'store credit'. When I returned the caulking materials they credited my debit card. There was no 'store credit'. They acted like I was trying to get away with something. 

1pm: Finished mulching,  swept garage floor, & vacuumed the Elantra. 

115pm: Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 30" Recumbent Bike, 15"Treadmill, 30"Cross;  watched 'COLD CASE:  The Tylenol Murders' (Netflix)- Was Johnson & Johnson responsible? more of the Las Vegas cop on THEO VON.. ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES.

Began ADAM FRIEDLAND on 'ARE YOU GARBAGE?'.

Finished 'YOUNG WALLANDER: Killer's Shadow' (Netflix). An odd ending, and I wonder if this is how the novel was written. Kurt quits the police, they didn't get their man, and the Gustav Family remains untouchable. Season #2 is available and I'll make a note in Drafts to remember to watch the rest of this series.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
