Watched 'HELL DOGS: In The House of Bamboo' (Netflix). PREMISE: Eleven years ago a Japanese supermarket was robbed and the clerks were murdered. An ex-cop compensates the victims' families with envelopes of cash and spends his life locating and killing the perps.  Confusing Thread: Because the supermarket heist was mob related the authorities are using vengeful ex-cop to infiltrate the Yakuza. I had seen this movie before and gave it 'two thumbs', but this time I dropped it to a single 'thumb'- About a "73" Metascore. There was a nice extended fight with shotguns that was about the only redeeming feature in the film. {The mob boss tips his personal bodyguards (nicknamed The Hell Dogs) $50,000 yen a day which is less than $350 usd}.  

More 'ETERNAUT' (Netflix). I shut it down 13 minutes into episode #5. The first four episodes seemed to point to some kind of 'global climate event', but now 'the bugs are taking over'. Who or what is behind the intergalactic attack? 

1150am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to put down the mulch that I bought yesterday. Hopefully, I've got enough to do the area under the tree by the mailbox. Then, to Planet Fitness for a shortened workout and probably back to Ace for more mulch. 

12pm- 1230pm: 5 bags covered the area beneath the maple tree, but more bags are needed for the rest of the front. Already it's an amazing upgrade for only $25.

1pm: To Planet Fitness; 45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 30" Recumbent Bike, 30"Cross...TWO HOURS AND 30 MINUTES;  watched 'CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR' (Netflix)- A flaky Texas congressman and a rich female religious nut raise tax dollars to drive the Commies out of Afghanistan. However, they 'fucked up the end game'; Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, Emily Blunt. Directed by Mike Nichols. Nominated for 1 Oscar; 5 wins & 24 nominations. "67" Metascore (no score lower than 70?) and I would go to "77" ;  began a 'TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF' podcast. 

Ace: up the hill from Planet Fitness. I almost left until I drove around to the side of the building and noticed the bags of mulch. It's all locked and they load it for you.  The same stuff, but it wasn't on sale: $35 for 5 bags.

Began 'YOUNG WALLANDER: Killer's Shadow' (Netflix). I shut it down 21 minutes into episode #2. Set in Malmo, Sweden but the soundtrack is in English. Loosely based on the novels of Henning Mankell and about the only similarity is that it features Kurt's stabbing when he was a rookie cop. The first time that I began this series I cut it off after only a few minutes. A second season has been added and I'm all in.
