Watched 'THE UNIVERSAL THEORY' (Kanopy). The film is seriously indebted to the works of PK Dick in that the film is a showcase for different versions of reality that seem to overlap and cross influence physical existence. In 1962 a young doctoral candidate was invited to a physics conference in Switzerland. His thesis is scorned, but he seems to have stumbled upon a new 'space/time continuum' and also meets a strange woman who seems to know all about him. Who is Karin? He writes a novel that incorporates his radical thesis and hopes that his work will reach a wider audience. A 'fun film', although difficult if you are only looking for a plausible storyline. 

I watched an eight minute YouTube video about the film. They also remarked on 'questions that were not answered' and wondered if this was the director's intention or just sloppy filmmaking?  However, I'm sure he was in on the gag. 

9am- 10am: I noticed a young black teen (and a couple of women) next door trimming the bushes and mowing the lawn in the abandoned house next door. These are probably people that used to visit the old lady. 

Finished 'THE LORENSKOG DISAPPEARANCE' (Netflix). The series ends and you don't know if Tom the billionaire was behind the kidnapping of his wife or if it was a sophisticated gang who made the snatch. The story is based on actual events, but the case was clearly not solved. Netflix doesn't plan to offer a second season. 

1140am: The plan is to mow the lawn and then take a walk in Washington Park.

12pm- 1pm: Mowed, swept & trimmed bushes on my side of the security fence. I saw a picture of poison Ivy on Nextdoor and I think that I have a major infestation in the flower bed on the other side of the backyard... Leaves of 3, let it be'.

Read for a bit and then hit the sidewalks.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.
