Watched 'HOLD ME TIGHT' (Hoopla). The film is dreamlike and demonstrates exacting editing to tell a rather difficult story. A woman leaves her husband and two children. No explanation or reason is given. At some point, the two kids and hubby die in an accident in the mountains. When the bodies are located she sells the family home and begins life anew. The film recreates  powerful moments within her recent life as a mother and wife as she deals with her tragic loss. It's quality arthouse fare, and asks a lot of the viewer. I liked it; with Vicky Krieps & directed by Mathiew Amalric. "82" Metascore and that's about where I'd put it.

Watched 'A GOOD AMERICAN' (Amazon Prime). {Oliver Stone- executive producer}. MetaData refers to data that is about the data. For example, what a message looks like, is it a photo, text, drawing, puzzle;  how is it organized, big words? slang? photos, drawings. KEY TAKEAWAY: "The intelligence agencies do not care what website you went to or what you downloaded. What matters is what pattern your digital behavior is taking and what 'fingerprints' were left concerning what you've been up to." 'TRAILBLAZER' was an old program used by the NSA which searched for 'keywords'. This was not nearly as effective as the program 'THIN THREAD' which delved into relationships and patterns of network of communications. 'THIN THREAD' gathered personal and private information about American citizens but the program designers made it a point to encrypt all personal information. A very insightful documentary and puts America's security agencies in a very bad light. Money and influence was more important than the safety and security of American citizens. As the final credits rolled: "Since 9/11 the USA has constantly expanded its mass surveillance programs and no single terror attack has been prevented".

Lots of talking heads sound off;  watched 'THE THINKING GAME' (Amazon Prime)- A small English start up develops 'Artificial General Intelligence' (AGI). Using the game environment was instrumental to teaching AI. It 'learned' by playing the game thousands of times.

Finished The Kreischer's on 'ARE YOU GARBAGE?' and began 'HISTORY HYENAS'- Wildest Popes.

More 'TELL ME YOUR SECRETS' (Amazon Prime). I shut it down 31 minutes into episode #9. There's one hour left in the series and I'll finish tomorrow morning. It's a compelling series with second tier stars that make it work.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.
