Watched 'EVE'S BAYOU' (Kanopy).  Set in the 1960's in an afro-american small town in the Louisiana Bayou and concerns a country doctor who has affairs with many women. His two daughters struggle with the emotional uproar caused by his infidelity. The message might be that some things are just better forgotten. An unusual subject for a film and it felt like it was based on a novel (it wasn't); with Samuel L. Jackson, Debbi Morgan (ALL OF MY CHILDREN). 12 wins & 17 nominations. "78" Metascore and I would go to "84". 

Watched 'MY OLD ASS' (Amazon Prime). During a mushroom trip a teenage girl meets herself at age 39. She's told by her older self to 'stay away from Chad', but her younger self just can't keep away, yet the only thing wrong with Chad is that he's going to die- ain't we all. It sounds ridiculous (the girl in question was also gay), but it was a somewhat compelling tale. Filmed at Lake Muskoka in Ontario, Canada which is about 135 miles north of Toronto; with Aubrey Plaza; 9 wins & 36 nominations. "74" Metascore and I would go to "85".

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
