Watched 'MISHIMA: A LIFE IN FOUR CHAPTERS' (Kanopy). It's an Art House film about the life of Yukio Mishima (a famous 20th century Japanese writer and poet) and the movie elegantly weaves sections of his novels into the story of his life. He seemed more than a little bit sexually confused and the film pulsates with homoerotic undercurrents. He was rejected by mom, so he learns to encourage his attraction (and even worship!) of all that is male..."We've lost our way and we must get back to 'traditional' values and bow down to our emperor"..."Might is right", and lots more extreme 'right-wing' points of view. Directed by Paul Schrader; with Ken Ogata. "84" Metascore and that's where I'd put it.

Finished 'THE EDDY' (Netflix). Most likely there will not be another season of 'THE EDDY', and just as well, since it contains a classic ending. The band sings 'The Eddy' on the street in front of the club and a new beginning awaits them all...

1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and I don't know whether I'll hit the street or walk the treadmill. [Treadmill- saves time & the speaker is expected. (It had arrived)]

125pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished Kevin & H. FOLEY on TYSO; began a 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Began season #2 of 'GANGS OF LONDON' (Netflix). I shut it down 12 minutes into episode #2. Most (all?) of the plot details have been forgotten from season #1, but it's fast paced with lots of boom-boom.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
