Up 550am: Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms and temps to about 90. The windows are shut tight.

Borrowed 'ARZE' (Hoopla) & this is pencilled in for 'The Second Morning Movie'. 

Watched 'BRICK' (Netflix). A couple become trapped in their German apartment building. A strange, impenetrable black wall has descended and sealed all doors and windows. They break into adjacent apartments below them yet when they finally unlock 'the code' to escape their building, they find that most of the city has been walled in. It was a 'defense shield' that was activated in error during a harbor fire. The movie made absolutely no logical sense. How could you exist in a 'safe house' if you didn't have water and no way to communicate with the outside world? It was a compelling story idea, but the resolution was less than satisfying.  

Watched 'ARZE' (Hoopla). The fractured political and social divisiveness of Lebanon provides an interesting backdrop for the more universal appeal of the rudimentary storyline. Mom goes into debt to purchase a used scooter for her small bakery business and when the bike is stolen, she takes her indolent son on a quest to find the bike.  It's a minor film on a shoestring budget, but touching nonetheless. Filmed in over 20 different locations across Beirut, Lebanon. SUPER INFLATION: The main character buys a scarf from a street vendor to visit a Muslim area in the city and the price is $250,000, however that only converts to $2.97 usd. 

1135am: Preparing for a walk on the treadmill and the plan is to hit the grocery store after the walk.

440pm: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began a 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

540pm: In the tub and I started to read my paperback. 'THE LONG LAVENDER LOOK' by JOHN D. MCDONALD and I noticed that there was a LAWRENCE SANDERS novel, 'THE 4TH DEADLY SIN' at Kindle for $1.99 so I got it and began in the tub; listening to ZZ TOP Early Playlist; PINK FLOYD- 'Devi/action 1970';

***BATTERY LOW {Battery charge is now below four hours. Unacceptable} so I bought another speaker at Amazon; BOSE SOUNDLINK FLEX: $99 ($108 total); (12 Hour battery). I checked 'The Cheese' and I first used the Walla speaker on Fr 9/20/24. It didn't last very long.

However,  I'm going to send back the 2nd 10 lbs of peanuts. I did not reorder.

815pm: I noticed that the PC prompt 'restart' & it only took a few moments. 

More 'THE EDDY' (Netflix). I shut it down 50 minutes into episode #5. This is a gripping drama and a pleasant change from the ultra-violence of my usual fare.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
