Watched 'UNDER THE SILVER LAKE' (Kanopy). I had seen this one before and remembered that it was a little like 'MULHOLLAND DRIVE' meets 'TWIN PEAKS'...or something. It's an intoxicating mashup of Noir and Irony with many mysterious subplots and quirky conspiracy theories. The basic premise is that a slacker from Silver Lake finds himself attracted to a neighbor in his apartment complex. She disappears, and the search is on. Later, it's revealed that she's been interred under the streets of Los Angeles in an apartment sized tomb with a billionaire and his other sex slaves; with Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, Riki Lindhome (wife of Fred Armisen). 3 wins & 9 nominations. "60" Metascore and I would go to at least (84).   

 ***About an hour into the film I got a 'system error' message from Kanopy. It didn't seem like any other tab was affected, but I had to restart the movie. Then I noticed the red light was back on the router. Are the two events connected?  {Or could the 'Blogger' problems of the last few days have any bearing?}.  

I tried to pay the Memorial bill for twenty bucks and no answer after a long wait. This is the second time I've tried and they don't have the option of leaving a call back number. {I got through later}

Finished 'OMAR AND CEDRIC' (Kanopy). This is a solid documentary, but I was not a big fan of their music. 

1215pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a visit to Esporta.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
