Watched 'CUCKOO' (Kanopy). Another kooky horror film that was a cut above. Set at a German mountain resort where a teenage girl is staying with her father's new wife and step daughter. It's a crazy tale and involves breeding mutants...or something. It was scary, ironic, and funny. "62" Metascore and I would go to "82". 

Began 'A KIDNAPPING SCANDAL: The Florence Cassez Affair' (Netflix). Mexico had become the kidnapping capital of the world and this case generated an avalanche of publicity.  A Mexican man and his French wife are captured and accused of being responsible for numerous kidnappings. It never really explains 'why' Mexico became a haven for kidnappers which might make for an even more interesting story. One of the ransoms was $10,000,000 Mexican pesos which is a little over $500,000 usd.

More 'A KIDNAPPING SCANDAL: The Florence Cassez' (Netflix). I shut it down 35 minutes into episode #4. Was the French woman involved in the kidnappings or was she just the head guy's girlfriend? I'm not convinced either way. However, she was sentenced to 96 years and that is outrageous.

A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
