Up 530am: Muggy with temps to upper 80's. We got some heavy rain last night, but less than an inch registered in the rain gauge. 

Watched 'A HERO' (Amazon Prime). An Iranian man is on a two day pass from jail. He was incarcerated for non-payment of a debt and his girlfriend finds a purse with seventeen gold coins. He could use the 'found' money to pay his debt, but he decides that he must do the right thing, and return the money. He does, but the reaction of the community turns against him. The film posits a thorny moral question and offers a look at how it works in a Muslim country. The character can get $75,000,000 tomas which is only $1,780.00 usd. Set in Shiraz, Iran. "82" Metascore and that's about where I'd put it.

More 'DEUTSCHLAND 83' (Amazon Prime). I finished episode #4 and glad to revisit this quality series with an authentic German point of view.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
