Watched 'WHO BY FIRE' (Kanopy). A very slow and methodical French Canadian film about a group of 'friends' who spend a weekend together at a remote cabin in the picturesque Le Haut-Maurice region of the country (180 miles north of Montreal). The party consists of a director, his screenwriter, a French film star and various family members. They hike, go canoeing, but mostly, they act surly and throw temper tantrums. It's over two and a half hours and far too long for such a minimal payoff. "72" Metascore and that's about where I'd put it. 

Watched 'TERRORISM CLOSE CALLS- Martin Luther King Day Plot' (Netflix). In Spokane, WA a city worker notices a backpack with a bomb on the route of a Martin Luther King parade. The FBI tracks the perp with a running t-shirt and thirty fishing weights that were in the backpack. They went to the town that sponsored the running event and found a store that sold thirty fishing weights that were purchased with a debit card. The guy was a 'home grown/ lone wolf' terrorist who is still deeply committed to White Nationalism. He got 32 years in prison and plans to  remain true to his beliefs after he is freed...chilling.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
