Watched 'ROSEMARY'S BABY' (Hoopla). The classic film about a young couple who move into 'The Dakota' (1 West 72nd St., NYC) and fall under the spell of a coven of witches; with Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon, Ralph Bellamy, Charles Grodin. Directed by Roman Polanski from a novel by Ira Levin. Won 1 Oscar {'Best Actress in a Supporting Role'- Ruth Gordon}; 13 wins & 13 nominations. "96" Metascore and that's about right. The film is undeniably one of the best psychological horror films ever made, but it's also a beautifully crafted time capsule from 1966.   From AI Mode:

Finished season #1 of 'SINTONIA' (Netflix).  The 3 main characters go on to new things; The girl is a 'born again' Christian, The striped hair guy signs with a record label, and The Black guy becomes a 'made man' and also the rapper's manager. Season #2 should even be better.

Watched some 'BREAKING POINTS' about 10% tariffs on Canadian goods after Trump was annoyed over a Reagan ad.

Thought provoking; with Idris Elba, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Jason Clarke. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow (THE HURT LOCKER). "75" Metascore and I would boost that to "84"; began 'ARE YOU GARBAGE?; watched 'BREAKING POINTS'.

From the workout I drove to CVS for the Tamsulosin. It should have been ready at 11am and it was after 4pm, but they needed another half hour. I bought some gentle laxative and went to Walgreens & set up my prescriptions with Walgreens. Fuck CVS.

Began 'TOUCH' (Amazon Prime). In broad strokes, most of the story is set in 1973 and concerns a love affair between an Icelandic student who was studying at the London School of Economics and a waitress in a Japanese restaurant where he worked part time. The film is presented in flashbacks and in 2019 at the beginning of the COVID pandemic the ex-student is now an old man and he returns to London to locate 'his waitress/ lover'. I shut down the film with 52 minutes left to go. I'll finish the film tomorrow morning.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
