Watched 'IMAGE OF VICTORY' (Netflix). It's a compelling film that leads up to The Battle of Nitzanim. That incident occurred in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War on June 7, 1938 and was the first major Egyptian victory of the war, and one of the few cases of Israeli surrender. The setup is that a filmmaker from Egypt is sent to the front lines to film the Arab's failed attack on Telaviv. This kibbutz was on the way up the coast and when the Arabs were forced to retreat, they attacked the Kibbutz on the way back so that they could give the king at least one victory. The story is set in the Nitzanim kibbutz in southern Israel along the Mediterranean coast. It's about 8 miles south of Ashdod and probably 20 miles north of the Gaza Strip.

Watched 'ELENA' (Netflix). A very romantic & avant garde documentary about a Brazilian woman who reminisces about her older sister. Her sister had dreams of becoming a New York actress and she was a hit in Brazilian theater in the 80's, but when she moved to New York city it was too much, and she committed suicide. The film is a collection of old family videos and dreamy, 'art house' dance sequences that attempt to portray the yearnings and disappointments of a young woman who has dedicated her life to 'The Arts'. It gets points for taking chances, but comes off as more than a little muddled. "81" Metascore and I would only go to "74". 

130pm:  The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to hit the treadmill today. 

1pm:  FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; "48 HOURS" (Amazon Prime)- An Aspen socialite is murdered and her friend and an elderly couple are suspects. It was the old man; more of a right-wing female Boston detective on THEO VON.

More 'SINTONIA' (Netflix). I shut it down 12 minutes into episode #4. It's a very gritty soap opera and it bursts with local color.
