Up 730am: A mix of sun & clouds and much cooler with temps only to upper 50's with wind gusts to 20-30 mph. {We got an inch of rain last night at 940}.

Weekly Cleaning

Watched 'SHARP CORNER' (Kanopy). A couple and their six year old son leave the city and move to the country. Their home is located on a hairpin turn and soon several people have died in car accidents on their front lawn. The film is about how mom, dad, and son process the deadly turn of events. Dad obsesses over the fatalities and feels that he can be a kind of  'an angel of protection'.   It's a clever and engrossing character study about an authoritarian personality who tries to gain control over a personal universe that has veered into chaos; with Ben Foster, in a stellar performance.  A random comment at a dinner party: "I'd rather have net worth than self worth".  "76" Metascore and I would easily bump this to "90". 

***Last night I ended the 'Apple/ Oatmeal/ Tuna Casserole' diet and I had half a can of chilli last night instead of the tuna. I am constipated, but that changed at 1115am. I feel much better and I think that the '8 Day Diet' helped immensely. Soon I'll try rice for the first meal of the day.

More 'FAUDA' (Netflix). I shut it down 23 minutes into episode #5. It's as gritty as 'soap' can get. 

1210pm:  The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to do the weights and then hit Planet Fitness. I had planned to take an edible (33- 40 mg) and walk Washington Park (& finish 'SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND HATE'), but it's far too windy although it's bright and sunny. 
Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps.

1255pm: Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 30"Recumbent Bike, 45"Cross;  watched an hour documentary, 'D.H. LAWRENCE: Sex, Exile, and Greatness' (Amazon Prime)- We haven't come that far in 100 years because some people still believe in 'dirty words'; more 'BALLARD' (Amazon Prime).

Stopped at Schnucks for apples & oatmeal- $10. When I was leaving Schnucks I ran into Ed (the retired shop teacher) and he called me 'the truck driver'.

540pm:  In the tub with 'BREAD UPON THE WATERS' and listening to MILES DAVIS QUINTET Playlist; MOBY GRAPE- 'Crosstalk'/ '20 Granite Creek'.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
