Up 515am {couldn't sleep}. A mix of sun & clouds with temps to upper 50's and a 35% chance of rain late this afternoon.

Watched 'THE SEDUCTION OF JOE TYNAN' (Netflix). After fifteen minutes I opted for something different...a solid jolt this morning!

Watched 'SNIPER: THE LAST STAND' (Netflix).  Silly to the point of absurdity because nearly all of the movie's (heavy handed) moral positions have been banned by international law. Since Nuremberg, the legal argument that 'I was just following orders' is no longer an excuse for human rights violations. In Broad Strokes: A band of 'heroes' are attacked by ten times their number and must defend their position or die. From IMDB: "An expert sniper leads a special ops team in Costa Verde to prevent a dangerous arms dealer from deploying a lethal weapon. While mentoring a rookie shooter, he struggles with his new leadership role as the mission grows deadlier." The action (I don't think it's ever made clear) takes place in Costa Verde, Brazil which is just 30 miles from Rio de Janeiro. Filmed in Capetown, South Africa, although there is no 'Costa Verde' in South Africa.  

Watched 'REBEL ROYALS: AN UNLIKELY LOVE STORY' (Netflix). A bisexual, Afro-American 'shaman/con man' marries a Norwegian princess. After watching the documentary I wouldn't trust either one of them, and they are clearly only using the monarchy to make money for themselves. The film is a 'puff piece' and a heartfelt valentine to themselves and because it was so unapologetically biased, it was worth a look.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
