Up 535: Mostly sunny & breezy with temps to mid 30's. On Saturday we are to expect the first major snowstorm of the season and several inches of snow could fall. {The (tentative) plan is to get the leaves off the front lawn tomorrow before the snow}.{I did on Friday 720am-9am}

Finished 'THE CRYSTAL CUCKOO' (Netflix). I felt like I was just on the edge of understanding exactly what happened. The uncle was the serial killer and his nephew, the cop, was a kind of reluctant mass murderer. The final scene shows a wolf blocking the road as the girl with the new heart leaves for Madrid. I guess the wolf symbolizes 'the predators' that exist in the dark forest. The title refers to the nature of the cuckoo bird. The female cuckoo lays her eggs in the nest of another bird species. When the cuckoo babies hatch, they eat the other baby birds. How did this bird wind up on a certain type of clock? {It's connected to the sound that the bird makes. Not the rapacious behavior}

810am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to get in Five Miles before the Thanksgiving get together on Red Oak. 

825am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched 'TUESDAYS WITH STORIES' at Skankfest- New Orleans. 

Began 'THE BEAST IN ME' (Netflix). Set in Oyster Bay, New York and very heavy on the melodrama; starring Claire Danes. I'm hooked & I shut it down 17 minutes into episode #2. 

1120am: The PC is 'Off' and I decided to get in another Two Miles on the treadmill before I drive across town. 

1135am: TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT;  'CHAOS'.

1240pm- 415pm: To Red Oak; ham, stuffing & caramel apple pie (I brought the pie). Hank was wearing noise cancelling headphones the whole time. He's very quiet (introverted) and there are no incidents. Jonas is excited about being a teenager and full of facts,  dates, and random bits of information. A pleasant encounter and a timely end.

540pm: In the tub with 'TERMS OF ENDEARMENT' and listening to DAVID GILMOUR Playlist; DEEP PURPLE- 'Fireball'; MOBY GRAPE- '20 Granite Creek'/ 'Crosstalk'. 

Finished 'TUESDAYS WITH STORIES'- SKANKFEST.

9pm: I ordered an electric throw blanket to use downstairs; $24.00 and it should be here by Tuesday.

More 'THE BEAST IN ME' (Netflix). Odd Bits Of Dialogue:  South African street vendors selling heads and feet of chicken known as 'Walkie-Talkies'. "People want gossip and carnage...not the news". I shut it down 27 minutes into episode #3.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
