Watched 'THE PHOENICIAN SCHEME' (Amazon Prime). Very funny and so many quotable lines. An Absurdist Art Film about an international plutocrat who is above every law and his immense power allows him to exist without any citizenship. So many gags and hilarious lines & this one should become a cult classic. Directed by Wes Anderson; with Benicio Del Toro, Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera, Willem Dafoe, F. Murray Abraham, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray (a God), Hope Davis, Benedict Cumberbatch. {I didn't recognize some of these stars}. "70" Metascore and I would easily go to "91".  

Watched 'BLURRED LINES: INSIDE THE ART WORLD' (Amazon Prime). "Bullet Points": The art world is much more about money than art. Auctions are a sham and they can even fake bidding to drive up the price. No sale is the slightest bit transparent and how the price is derived is never revealed. This is true for no other legal transaction. Value is determined only by people who are trying to increase the price of an artwork. Authorities turn a blind eye because this only involves the super rich so it's kind of a victimless crime.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
