Watched 'NOWHERE IN AFRICA' (Hoopla). In the late 1930's a Jewish family fled Germany and managed to immigrate to a desolate & run-down farm in very rural Kenya. They've escaped the Nazis, but African culture and 'the world war' force them to become radically different individuals. Several effective scenes about the prevalence of antisemitism and racism in general and the locations were easy on the eyes. Won 1 Oscar; 19 wins & 6 nominations. "72" Metascore and I'd go slightly higher- "76". 

Watched 'THE LOST WEEKEND' (Amazon Prime). John Lennon's romance with May Pang. Will finish the last ten minutes later. 

1220pm: The PC is 'Off' and I'm going to walk outside and the weather is dicey. I'm hoping the rain won't hit before 3pm. And, tomorrow begins a frigid snap so it will be treadmill and health club for the foreseeable future.

Finished the last ten minutes of  'THE LOST WEEKEND' (Amazon Prime). The oddest takeaway is that Julian Lennon and his mother, Cynthia (John's first wife) are both very close friends with May Pang to this day.  It doesn't seem like anyone is very close to Yoko.

More 'AMSTERDAM EMPIRE' (Netflix). I shut it down 28 minutes into episode #4. I wish it dealt more with the nuts and bolts of the cannabis business. It's more of a soap opera that occurs between business rivals who happen to be in the cannabis industry. Although, I'm still one hundred percent 'all in'.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
