*** At 650am the truck from Republic Services picked up the' big blue can' with lots of thunder and bright flashing lights. How strange. I wonder if a new driver has lost his way because the usual pickup is around 1030am and sometimes I get a text that they might be running late. This is the first time in over a decade that they've been this early. 

Watched 'THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD' (Tubi). A young woman is in a relationship, but finds herself strongly attracted to a man that she met when she crashed a wedding party. They attempt to 'chart the boundaries of acceptable infidelity' and there is a segment of the film where she 'stops action' and goes to visit the new man. Everything and everyone on the screen is not moving except for her and the new man in her life. I remembered that I had seen this section of the film from a previous viewing. The movie gets even better when she learns that her first boyfriend is dying of cancer and she pays him a visit. In the end, she finds satisfaction (completion?) by just being alone. The film is an original and interesting presentation of a complicated love story and divergent relationships. I was surprised that it received a '91' Metascore and I think that just about nails it. A couple of reviews gave it '100'.   Filmed in Oslo, Norway.  

A request for a 'restart' and it only took a moment and it was so quick that I wonder what changed. 

Finished 'LOVE & DEATH' (Netflix). Both the prosecutor and defense counsels delivered brilliant closing arguments to the jury. It could have gone either way, but she was acquitted because there was considerable evidence that she might have acted in self defense. While the credits rolled we learn that all of the primary participants divorced and remarried in the years following the verdict.  Many years later the defense attorney unsuccessfully ran for the governor of Texas and later still, ended his life with a gunshot to the head. I wonder if he ever thought about using an ax. This was a truly spellbinding series and Elizabeth Olsen was perfect in the role. 

1215pm: The PC is 'Off' and I'm a little indecisive about whether to hit Planet Fitness today or tomorrow. Chance of snow both days, but I think I'll hit the treadmill today. 

1235pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; TUESDAYS WITH STORIES;  more 'CHAOS'.

Connected the new (I've had it since July) Bose speaker to the wall charger for phone & skimming the instructions. Will charge all night and screw with the 'pairing' at a later date.

Season #2 'BLOOD COAST' (Netflix). Watch the last 30 minutes of the last episode of season #1. I shut it down 36 minutes into the first episode. High marks for 'Bad-assitivity'.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
