Up at 5am {couldn't sleep}. Sunny & frigid with temps only to mid teens and gusty winds.

Watched 'I KILLED MY MOTHER' (Hoopla). It's basically a reconstruction of 'Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf'? with the toxic relationship between a son and his mother rather than a husband and wife. Lots of vitriolic and passionate arguments where neither party can claim emotional victory. Can you love someone with all your heart, yet still feel angry and disconnected?  "77" Metascore and I would go to "85". The film is set in French speaking Quebec, Canada and shot in and around Montreal.

Began 'Southland' (Netflix). Season #1 was in 2009 on NBC and no wonder it's kind of dull and lacks the ring of truth...still watchable if not a little too predictable. I shut it down 4 minutes into the third episode.

Finished 'HIGH TOWN' (Netflix). Frankie gets shot in the head by his wife's cop boyfriend. It's wide open for another season where Jackie fights police corruption and I hope 'the powers that be' make this possible.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
