Watched 'FIRST COW' (Hoopla). Set in the early 1800's, an itinerant Chinaman and an unemployed baker sell campfire bake goods to trappers and miners in the Oregon Territories. In order to make the cakes they have to steal milk from The Captain's cow. They flee the village and possibly they are murdered in their sleep. The movie opens with two skeletons in a shallow grave in the woods and maybe that was them? The movie was too slow and much of it was filmed at night and the lighting was so inadequate that you could not tell what was going on. An interesting storyline and historical setting, but lacking in execution.  "90" Metascore and 7 entries of "90" or above. I would only give it a "78". I watched a 4 minute YouTube capsule review and I guess I got about all of what was intended. 

Finished 'IN THE MUD' (Netflix). I noticed that season #2 has dropped and I made a calendar note to restart the series in a couple of months. Very gritty & melodramatic. 

12pm: Just as I was closing out I noticed a prompt for a 'restart'. I'll run the update and then prepare for a walk on the treadmill. It didn't even take a minute. I wonder what's going on?

1220pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched two 15" YouTube videos about Bob Weir & The Dead: finished 'TUESDAYS WITH STORIES'; more 'GRAVE DANGER'.

More 'GUNPOWDER, TREASON AND PLOT' (Amazon Prime). I shut it down just about the two hour mark and there's an hour and 20 minutes left to go. I might save it and watch in small chunks. It's definitely worth a look because some of European history is even more irrational than America's.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am.
