 Sa 3/28/26- Bathroom Remodel: Day Two

Up 530am: {15 minutes before the alarm; surprisingly well rested}. Sunny & breezy with temps to mid 50's.

 Constipation is still an anxiety issue and the biggest downside to the entire project. 710am: Bowel movement is not going to happen, however, three moderate sized 'pebbles' at 740am. I ate very little yesterday and I only took one 'tan' laxative and tonight I will be sure to 'double up'. 

805am: The installer called and said it would be about an hour before he arrived. He stopped at Menards for more of what he needs and he'll get something to eat. It's over 100 miles from here to Pontiac.

Began 'THE NEIGHBORS' (Kanopy). The plan is to finish the film downstairs when the installer arrives. The story is set in Gyeonggi Province which includes the city of Seoul, South Korea.   

***Began work about 930am and the tub demo and sledge hammers will be involved. 950am: I relocated downstairs.  

Finished 'THE NEIGHBORS' (Kanopy). An odd film and I really didn't understand it. A serial killer lives in a high rise community and he's preying on middle school girls. At the end of the film he says, " The girl that I killed has been coming home for a week". This girl's step mother has experienced the same feeling (or was it an apparition?). Was it a ghost or another girl who looked very similar? One of the reviewers said that the film is based on a Korean graphic novel and he wanted to read this before he could understand the film. I agree.

Watched 'LET'S START A CULT' (Kanopy). It was a film that's far more odd than funny, but I guess that's what they were going for. I was surprised that Stavvy is the star of the film and he does carry it off; with Stavros Halkias, Katy Fullan, Wes Haney, Tom Papa, Robert Kelly..."The Manson of The Midwest"...The movie was filmed in Illinois featuring scenes in Frankfort, Illinois which is about fifteen miles east of Joliet.  

Just after 1pm I got on the treadmill. The exhaust fan with light is installed in the bathroom ceiling, the tub is removed, and he says that he'll be done sometime tomorrow. That's about what we agreed on. When he adds the sides to the tub enclosure I will decide where I want the shelves and also where to put the 'grab bar'. The installer mentioned that he was from Washington State and his father is Ukrainian and he still lives there.  

115pm:  FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched TOM SEGURA on 'ARE YOU GARBAGE?'; began an interview with 'Bear' Owsley'.

3pm- 330pm:  The shut off valves that I bought at Ace were the wrong size. I went to Lowe's and bought 3 for $8.00 a piece. At Ace they were $16.00 per. I told the installer to knock off around 830pm tonight. This whole experience is very draining for me and the scope of this job is far bigger than I ever imagined. And the guy seems very competent.

Reading 'PRENTICE ALVIN' downstairs & listening to the Altec (kitchen) Bluetooth speaker. 

530pm:  TWO MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; finished DAVID CROSS on 'TYSO'.

Reading and looking forward to 830pm.  I feel like I've done a lot of the work & dreading another day of this. Paying, regardless of the amount, will be such joy & I am more than satisfied that the labor costs are worth every penny.

845pm: Installer left after a chat of money & recreational drugs. Tomorrow could be a 12 hour plus day. 

I went to bed exhausted (got up too early) at 930pm.
