Up 545am: Partly sunny & breezy with temps to about 80.
Watched 'THE ROVER' (Hoopla). This was somewhat familiar from the start and very well worth a second look. Deep in the desert wilderness of Australia, a man's car is hijacked and he hunts down the villains to get back his ride. Many are shot and killed along the way, and the reason he wanted his car back was that his dog was in the trunk. He was on the way to bury his dog when his car was stolen. At IMDB I learned that the film was set ten years after a global collapse. I just thought it was deep in the Australian interior at some, not so distant 'contemporary' time period; with Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy. "64" Metascore and I would go to "83".
Watched 'ROOMMATES' (Netflix). Did three minutes and gave it a 'thumbs down'. Not my kind of comedy; style was way off- 'strident, goofy'.
Watched 'THE LAZARUS PROJECT' (Netflix). The second part of the tale (the 'execution' was in Texas) is set in Willamette Oregon which is an area about 20 miles south of Portland, Oregon. However, the movie was filmed in Manitoba, Canada (the province north of Minnesota and North Dakota). A basically good guy is roped into a robbery (by his ex-con brother) and during the crime people are killed and in Texas this warrants the death sentence. When they give him the needle, he seems to awaken into a new life as a groundskeeper in an asylum run by Catholic priests (?). I guess the execution was a hoax and the government (?) was trying to 'rehabilitate' citizens instead demanding 'death as the ultimate punishment'. It just didn't make a whole lot of sense and it might have worked better as a genuine film about an afterlife; Paul Walker, Piper Perabo, Bob Gunton, Linda Cardellini.
Noon: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to plant the flowers out front and then head to Planet Fitness.
1220pm- 110pm: To the gardening...and swped some dandelions
135pm: To Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 15"Recumbent Bike, 15"Cross...TWO HOURS; binged on 'BLACK RABBIT' (Netflix).
Reading 'TEA AND TRANQUILLISERS' (spelled with 2 'L's).
545pm: In the tub to finish 'TEA AND TRANQUILISERS' & began 'CITY OF ILLUSIONS' by URSULA K LEGUIN and listening to SAVOY BROWN Playlist; SANTANA- 'Live 1968'; SAM & DAVE Playlist.
Watched a 7 minute YouTube video on 'Trash Weed' and the reason this is happening is because the new laws are not protecting the small craft growers. He thinks that a union is the best solution.
More SKUNK BAXTER on BILLY CORGAN & watched Saagar (BREAKING POINTS) do a 20 minute wrap-up about the attempted Trump assassination yesterday.
I'll save the end of 'BLACK RABBIT' (Netflix) for tomorrow.
Began 'BANDI' (Netflix). Set and filmed on the Caribbean island of Martinique. I shut it down 54 minutes into the first episode. Another 'top shelf' series.
