Watched 'CORA BORA' (Netflix).  It's the sad (yet cringe funny) tale of a neurotic, overweight lesbian with dreams  of becoming a recording artist and leaves LA to visit 'friends' in Portland, yet nobody in Oregon cares. The premise that anyone could be this deluded about their 'musical career' in Los Angeles is nearly impossible to accept, yet the film gets points for extreme oddness. "64" Metascore and I would go to "78". From THE DAILY BEAST- "It’s Stalter’s brazen conviction that really sells the film. Carried on the shoulders of Cora’s leopard print, faux fur coat, Cora Bora is a taught indie that straddles funny and forlorn with unexpected depth". Filmed in Santa Clarita, CA.

1235pm:  To Dr. MARTINEK & I was out by 2pm. First I talked with his student assistant. He said that I no longer need to pay $61 per month for vitamins. He suggested a regular supplement for men. He also said that I probably wouldn't need to see Dr. Garg and Agnes Fenner could probably do the bloodwork. He seems like a nice guy and very smart.

Watched a 25" YouTube documentary about Cannabis Strain G-13. Grown at the only US research facility for cannabis which was located at the University of Mississippi. A tech smuggled out a single female plant of 'the really strong stuff; 'lock you to the couch' stuff and this altered cannabis genetics forever. SOMETHING NEW: In the late 70's the US government paid Mexico to spray the pot fields with paraquat. This was a poison that killed the plants, but it also destroyed human lungs if smoked. The Mexicans would harvest the crop right after it had been sprayed and send it north to America anyway. The outcry in America caused the government to enact legislation banning the use of poisons on cannabis.

More 'LEAD CHILDREN' (Netflix). I shut it down 11 minutes into the second episode. The costumes and sets are exceptional and it's a real feast for the eyes.It's ironic that the theme is the destruction of the landscape and health of the people, yet the film is so beautiful.
