Watched 'KARA' (Netflix). A thief returns home to ask for a loan and ends up robbing banks to save his village from foreclosure. Set in 1991 and pretty corny, and possibly a distorted view of an alien culture.  Would contemporary Indians accept the premise? Set in Renigunta which is a suburb and outgrowth of Tirupati in Southeastern India near Chennai. The hero travels south along the coast to Ramanathapuram, India; 350 miles. I watched an hour and 45 minutes and shut it down with 50 minutes remaining. Maybe I'll finish it tonight. {I did}

Watched 'FIRE IN PARADISE' (Netflix- 50"). Campfire Fire decimated Paradise, California & a few other small communities. 85 deaths and over 1,000 missing people.  Sections of towns were burned to ash. Watched '30 FOR 30: JUNE 17, 1994' (Netflix 50"). It's kind of a 'true crime' documentary about what was going on in the world of sports the day that OJ Simpson made his infamous 'White Bronco' escapade. Arnold Palmer retires from pro golf after 40 years; The Rangers win a championship; The World Cup at Soldier's Field; a few others. Presented just as the events unfolded and the media struggles to understand and document the cultural and societal implications of Simpson's 'low-speed' chase back to Brentwood. How much fun is 'mob mentality'? 

***First time for the new rice cooker. It's the same size as the old one although it seems bigger. Works just like the old one although I don't see any 'non stick' surface.
