Watched 'MY DEAREST ASSASSIN' (Netflix). Another head scratcher. The film has something to do with a girl who has 'the world's rarest blood type'. She is kidnapped by a man who runs a martial arts studio? This man has a son with the same rare blood type and he needs 'extra' blood for the boy??? His son and the girl become romantically involved. I didn't get any of this, and the violence was so cartoonish that it was more like watching a bad video game. This is from the title page at IMDB- "Hunted for her rare blood type, a caged woman vows to fight alongside the assassin she loves to protect their future when an old enemy resurfaces". And I still don't know what the film was about. Shot on location in Thailand in and around Bangkok.

Watched 'DON'T BREATHE' (Netflix). A crew of robbers decide to rob a blind man. He's a vet who lives in a ramshackle home in an abandoned section of contemporary Detroit. The miscreants believe that he has $300,000 in cash and one night they decide to relieve him of his savings. Things do not go as planned. It would seem that the 'sighted' burglars would have the upperhand, but the vet knew his stuff. It sounds pretty hokey, yet the film was not nearly as dumb as it sounds. "71" Metascore and I would go to "83". From INDIEWIRE- "This elegant and surprisingly fast-paced blend of horror and suspense overcomes some of its more ridiculous ingredients thanks to endless invention".  

Began 'THEY TOOK OUR CHILD: WE GOT HER BACK' (Amazon Prime). An eight year old girl from Vallejo, CA is kidnapped and held in the abductor's car for a few days. Once he left the car, she found the keys, unlocked the padlock that chained her to the gearshift, and flagged down a passing trucker. She's now 23 years old and the documentary ends with her giving the trucker a bouquet of flowers for his bravery.
