Weekly Cleaning

Watched 'SHOOTER' (Hoopla). A retired sharpshooter is asked to plan an assassination because the government requires his expertise. Actually, it's a top secret government agency that's setting him up to be the patsy, but he escapes and goes on a rampage for 'Truth, Justice and The American Way Of Life'. He murders a United States senator at the end of the film and you feel like cheering. It's a very 'pro-conspiracy theory' film and unapologetic to the end; with Mark Wahlberg, Michael Pena, Danny Glover, Elias Koteas, Levon Helm. "53" Metascore and I would go to "76". From 'WASHINGTON POST' : "It's a story that can be transplanted from genre to genre, because we never grow tired of it, which is to say that it fits snugly into the paranoid drift of American movies, and the value we place on one honest man with a gun". 

I watched the first episode of 'THE GREAT WAR' (Netflix- 2 part series). In the early stages of  WWI France desperately needed American boots on the ground. American troops lacked training, but General Pershing sent black US soldiers to fight under the French. Pershing knew that American fighting troops were 'white only' and he couldn't see a way to integrate them into the American force. The French were happy with the decision and treated the black Americans better than they were treated back home.

12pm: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for a workout at Planet Fitness and then to Schnucks for errands.

  1250pm: Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 30"Recumbent Bike, 30"Cross....TWO HOURS AND 30 MINUTES; watched 'KILLER JOE' (Netflix)- It's a Hillbilly Noir tale of insurance fraud & murder hatched out of a Texas trailer park; with Emile Hirsch, Matthew McConaughey, Juno Temple, Thomas Haden Church, Gina Gershon. Director William Friedkin (THE EXORCIST, THE FRENCH CONNECTION, CRUISING). Michael Shannon starred in the stage play that was written by Tracy Letts. "62" Metascore and I would easily go to "85. From THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER- "A likeably unpleasant slice of adults-only Texas noir, which aims at the funnybone as much as the jugular."; watched a YouTube video about a guy's stories about the Stones and several famous country artists. Fun Fact: Merle Haggard smoked weed all day and all night. 

Schnucks: apples, taco shells, Cheerios:  $15.

535pm:  In the tub to begin 'DEVIL'S WALTZ' by JONATHAN KELLERMAN and listening to BLUE OYSTER CULT- 'Some Enchanted Evening'; THELONIOUS MONK Playlist; TEMPTATIONS Playlist. 

Began TREVOR WALLACE & MICHAEL BLAUSTEIN on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

More 'PARISH' (Netflix). I shut it down 33 minutes into episode #2. A quality production from AMC.

A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
