 Watched 'I SEE YOU' (Kanopy). A podcaster and her cameraman 'phrogg' at the upscale suburban home of a police detective, his wife and teenage son. The cop happens to be a serial kidnapper of young boys and the podcaster's cameraman is one of the boys who got away. It's an intricate and well told story and some of the details were familiar so I must have seen this one before; with Helen Hunt, Jon Tenney, Owen Teague (BLOODLINE). "65" Metascore and I would boost that to "84". From 'VARIETY'- "An eerie suspense exercise that starts out looking like a supernatural tale — one of several viewer presumptions this cleverly engineered narrative eventually pulls the rug out from under." Phrogging- the act of secretly living in another person's home without their knowledge or consent. People who 'hop from pad to pad' to avoid being caught. Filmed in Northeast Ohio; in and around Cleveland.

Began 'MONEY, EXPLAINED' (Netflix). A very informative series; episodes short & sweet at 22 minutes.  "Puffery"- saying positive things about a product that doesn't cross the line into lying. Where do you draw the line?  'Transactor'- one who pays the balance each month. 'Revolver'- one who carries a balance each month. 40% of credit card users are Transactors, 40% Revolvers, 20% no card. Student loan debt is now larger than auto loan debt or credit card debt. 'For Profit Colleges' spend more on advertising than instruction. It's difficult for people to save for retirement because they don't identify with their 'future selves'. That 'hypothetical' person seems like a stranger. Retirement could be available for many more people if workers and employers were forced into a matching savings plan. Workers would automatically save 10% of their wage. 7% from the worker's salary and the company matches with 3%.

More 'LEGENDS' (Netflix). I shut it down 47 minutes into the forth episode. It's very good, but very British. Even with subtitles some of the slang makes no sense.  There seems to be a weird rivalry between Manchester and Liverpool ("Liverpool is like a village"), but you'd have to be from the area to get the distinction. The audience (the British) already know about it so no explanation is necessary.

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
