Up 6am: {I cut off a few inches from my beard; back to 'summer length'}. Rain is predicted for most of the day, although only a quarter inch is expected with temps only to mid 70's. 

Watched 'A CHIARA' (Kanopy- I had difficulty 'opening' the film. I did a restart because I noticed last night on the downstairs PC I required two restarts, but it did allow the film to play although it probably had nothing to do with the restart).  Set in contemporary Calabria, Italy which is in southwest Italy and occupies the 'toe' of the country's boot-shaped peninsula; mountains, old-fashioned villages and dramatic coastline. A fifteen year old girl learns that her father is a mafia drug dealer. While he's at large, the authorities want to remove the teenage girl from her family (put her in foster care) because her mafia father would expose her to 'the criminal life'. I wonder if that's a real thing. Can the children of mafia families be removed from their homes? {Yes! - AI Mode- In 2012 Italy introduced a judicial program called 'Liberi di scegliere' ("Free to Choose"). It began in Calabria and expanded nationwide to target other powerful criminal networks}. "75" Metascore and I would go to "81". From 'THE PLAYLIST'- "He’s not quite deconstructing the gangster picture, but he succeeds in draining all its allure."

Finished 'THE POLYGAMIST' (Netflix). The series begins and ends at Jonasi's funeral where Joyce calls his corpse a 'Motherfucker'. Right before the end credits we learn that Joyce paid a woman with HIV to sleep with Jonasi and infect him. Joyce wanted his sex drive to kill him because that's what poisoned nearly all of Jonasi's relationship. Joyce believes that although her son got Jonasi to sign over the company to him, he would never be like Jonas. However, in the final scene Joyce's son is shown having sex with one of Jonasi's partners so I guess the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. I loved the series and especially the set designs and costumes. 

1140am: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to visit Esporta, do the groceries, and then drop in at ARC on West Washington. 

1210pm: To Exporta...45"Precor, 45"Treadmill, 30"Cross, 10"Recumbent Bike, 10"Precor....TWO HOURS AND 20 MINUTES;  watched 'PACIFIC HEIGHTS' (Netflix)- A young couple try to rehab a big house in San Francisco and end up with the worst tenant imaginable; with Melanie Griffith, Mathew Modine, Michael Keaton. "55" Metascore and I would bump that to "80"; more 'SOUTHLAND' (Netflix).

About 4pm I arrived at the rehabilitation joint on West Washington. When I walked into the room a man was asking questions about her emotional and mental health. She sees her condition as a fight against 'the powers of darkness'. She said that cancer was a 'demon'. I stayed about an hour and I was blown away by her positivity. I hope she doesn't lose her attitude because this is only the beginning... From a written scrap of paper in the series 'NEMESIS' (Netflix)....."A person can break under pressure, but will crumble under doubt".   

I put away the groceries and had a snack, but no bath. I watched a 20 minute YouTube documentary about Johnny Winter and a discussion on Jeff Beck by Rick Beato. 

More 'NEMESIS' (Netflix). I shut it down 13 minutes into the fifth episode. Mario Van Peebles is the son and he directed the first two chapters of 'NEMESIS' and Melvin Van Peebles is his dad and the godfather of the 'Blaxploitation' film genre.
