Up 6am: Mostly sunny with temps only to upper 70's yet 'Heat Warnings' are forecast for early next week. 

Watched 'PEACOCK' (Kanopy). It's a very strange & darkly satirical German Art Film. THE PREMISE: 'Impersonation For Hire'- A man runs a company that provides 'actors' to fill in for real situations in your life. Ex- 'Bring Dad To School Day':  Parents have hired a man to 'play' dad as an airplane pilot; A woman hires a person to 'practice arguing'. Her husband never listens, so she learns to assert herself (and gets a separation); Go on a 'spa date' with someone who wants to experience it with a partner.  One of the reviews said that there are real companies in Japan that provide these kinds of services.  The film documents the growing confusion in the man's life. "It's not acting, because actors get to take a break. In this, you must 'keep it real' for the entirety of the encounter (no matter what might occur)". The film also implies the very real conflict between 'Public Persona' and 'Private Life'- how you act alone versus how you are around people. 

I was going to cut the grass just after 9am, but it's too wet out back. I can even do it late this afternoon because it's going to be cool.    

Watched 'MIGUEL ANGEL BLANCO: THE 48 HOURS THAT CHANGED SPAIN' (Netflix). Blanco was a member of the Ermua town's council and was kidnapped by the terrorist organization, ETA. When they didn't get their demands, they shot and killed Blanco. This set off a nationwide condemnation of the killing and terrorism in general. The government could not negotiate with terrorists, so in a sense, they let him die, but if they gave in to the demands, the terrorists would be able to blackmail the state into anything. Some people hated Blanco (followers of ETA) and his grave was desecrated and was moved to the small village Ourense. Ermua, Spain is a town in northern Spain in the Basque Country. It's about 25 miles east of Bilbao on the Bay of Biscay.

12pm: I can't put it off any longer and it's been two weeks to the day, so it's time to mow the fucking lawn.

1210pm- 130pm: Mowed, trimmed bushes by security fence, cut back hedge on the side to below the windows, swept. Grade: a solid 'C-plus'.

More 'SUMMER '36' (Netflix). Finished the second episode. This is like an Agatha Christie novel, only better. I bet (hope) this was a smash hit in France.
