Up 630am: Hot & sticky with a chance of morning showers {nada} and temps to 90 with a 'Heat Advisory' in effect. 

Watched 'A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE' (Netflix). It's a bland 'Space Invasion' film set on the gritty streets of Manhattan. A black woman (she's in a hospice and dying of cancer) and her cat face the alien apocalypse by heading to Harlem for a slice of pizza with a terrified white man. The aliens have mastered intergalactic travel, yet they don't know how to swim. From personal observation I can say that the film presents a very rosy portrayal of 'end of life' in hospice and the cat (Frodo) had far too many canine qualities.  And, that's also from personal observation. "68" Metascore and that's about what I'd rate it.

930am: The new laxative has worked once this morning, but I'm still experiencing a bit of 'bubble guts'. I think it will be OK and will give a call to find out the situation in Plains.   

945am: The PC is 'Off' and will call Joe and the rest of the day is in the air. Left at 10am & arrived 1020am; left 225pm. 1130am: Assistant nurse showed up to give her a bath; then (1230pm), Pam (social worker)- a very nice black woman who will deal with any mental issues and there do not seem to be any at this point. She said that she would be back in a month. In a month will there be a reason to come back? A guy from Memorial (?) picked up the extra wheelchair and hospital bed;  tried gas at Shell and it wouldn't work unless I went inside, so down to the station at Old Jacks & Monroe to fill up the Elantra.

335pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; TUESDAYS WITH STORIES 

540pm: In the tub to finish 'SIDDHARTHA' & began 'STEPPENWOLF' and listening to DON CHERRY- 'Complete Communion'; DONALD FAGEN- 'The Nightfly'; STEELY DAN- 'Gaucho'. 

Finished THOMAS LENNON on 'WE MIGHT BE DRUNK'.

Began 'MY DAUGHTER'S FATHER' (Netflix)....."One in every 25 fathers is raising another man's child and in most cases, they never find out."  This ran at the end of the first episode and I wonder if it's true of Mexican men or men in general? I shut it down 24 minutes into the second episode. I'll be back; it's not great, but classic soap opera shenanigans.

A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home.
