CABIN FEVER 2 was set in 'Springfield', but not nearly as good as the Eli Roth film. Ho hum and played more for laughs...
Up 5am. Might even be some frost early; To crack 50 later, yet calm and pleasantly sunny. 6am- BLACK BUTTERFLY. Certainly an homage to Stephen King, yet still packs an unexpected punch. I loved/liked it!
Reading RECONSTRUCTION 815am on the couch. I read a couple of chapter, and then switched to AFTER SILENCE and spend another two hours and read to the end. What a delightful book! I had read this before, but I really loved it this time! Will most definitely go on Janny's 'book pile'.
130pm I went outside to the front lamp and removed the old bulb and inserted the new bulb with the light sensor. No problem getting the top of the unit off- expected problems. And, much later I noticed that the light went on right at dusk. The energy use is almost not to be believed- only a couple of dollars a year to run. The curve in front of the house is really dark, so it's going to help with street safety. I'm not so sure about unwanted intruders.
2pm on the machines at Planet Fitness. 30" Walk. 3.5/0. 45" Recumbent Bike (Began THE RED PRESIDENT). 45" Cross. 30" Bike. 30" Cross.
When I got home I did the weekly dusting/ sweeping, and then called Elsie's House. Talked to Lannie for most of the call and she said that he was up most of the night. Apparently, he wakes up and then calls for his walker or wheel chair. More or less, just shouts commands into the darkness, and then he wanted to go back to bed at 2pm this afternoon.
Showered and tonight I'm streaming JOAN DIDION- THE CENTER WILL NOT HOLD. And for some inexplicable reason, this turned into a 5 beer night. Sippin' and thinkin' on Didion's 'Writer's Royalty' (her husband was John Gregory Dunne, and his brother was Dominique Dunne) take on the hippies. In her early 80's, she's not too steady, yet her mind is still tenacious.
