Last night I watched a documentary about an influential NYC gay activist/ drag queen called THE DEATH AND LIFE OF MARSHA P. JOHNSON. A kind of True Crime/ Who Did It? and there was really no completely satisfying resolution to the film. It seems that he/she was probably chased out onto a deserted NY city pier, part of the floor collapsed, and he drowned. The slant was that it was a police cover-up, but after the abbreviated autopsy report is presented, it appears that they did suspect homicide, but suicide could not be completely ruled out.
Read OUTLANDER on and off, beginning around three am; up 6am.
Watched a very well-done Australian film called BOYS IN THE TREES. Set on Halloween night and concerned a group of high school boys on the cusp between childhood and young adulthood. A large homoerotic subtext and centered on two of the boys who used to be close friends, but grew apart. The hook is that one of these boys had committed suicide and it's not revealed until the end of the night. Then, I watched another episode of CLICK FOR MURDER. Criminals make a 'killing' using the internet to lure their victims.
Napped and read OUTLANDER until 2pm. Then, on the bike for a ride- 1'45". Not a cloud in the sky and the temps in the very low 80's. You couldn't ask for better conditions. Wore a light-weight flannel shirt to protect the new tattoo from the sun. Wash PK/Allen/8th all the way north to Griffiths/west around the north-end of Lincoln Park and into the cemetery/1st south to Eastman/west to Johnson Ln along North Grand/Churchill south around to Durkin/club.
The god-damned Shell station now has a pay air machine. I'll never go there again!
30" Walk. 3.6/0. 30" Recumbent Bike. 30" Cannon?? (Ugly Buildings, Whores, and Politicians- Drive-By Truckers). 30" Cross. The Three Routines. Just a shower.
Home to do the dusting and sweeper. Called Elsie's House and talked for just a couple of minutes. I'll bet Janny had just called, but he didn't remember.
ALIENATE for tonight.
