330am-445am: Reading THE RED PRESIDENT and the smart phone about 'The Donald'; also learned that Jean Peters, the star of PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET, was once married to Howard Hughes. She was every bit as good as Widmark in the film. Up 5am; mid thirties early and temps to mid forties, yet sunny.

Watched the last one hour episode of REDFERN NOW; punk dies of injuries while in police custody and black cop feels the guilt.

8am-930am- reading THE RED PRESDIENT on the couch.

Bonus Feature PICKUP ON SOUTH STREET- 1015am. Sam Fuller was a very interesting guy and his insight into the making of the film was very helpful. Truly a movie that's more than a film without heroes-  none of the characters have any redeemable characteristics whatsoever, and this is just what Fuller wanted. 

1130am Drove to Wabash PO to mail the disc and workout at Planet Fitness. 30" Walk. 3.5/0. 45" Recumbent Bike (THE RED PRESIDENT). 30" Cross. 30" Bike. Home to shower and then read more of the Martin Gross novel; (Miles at The Fillmore- 1970/ 'Vampire on Titus'- Guided By Voices);1'30". 

I have the porch light off (it always is), the lawn light off, and the light in the front window is off. I have the light at the end of the couch lit- don't want no moochers. It's 540pm and no movement on the streets. Maybe they won't come. School day tomorrow?

I think I'll give NARCOPOLIS a shot for tonight, maybe an extra beer for the holiday....to keep the spooks at bay.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale.
