We 10/11/17- Dick Van Dyke Day
Last night I was sure glad that the mailman tramped through the gloom and delivered SMASHED. Although I got it because of Aaron Paul, his co-star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead absolutely stole the show! The film was nominated for numerous awards, but received none. Further reading revealed that this was because of a dunderhead-ed release schedule. Coulda' been a contender!!
Raw, breezy, chilly, misty- 60's all day.
Read BOTTOM LINE BLUES; 3am-430am; then slept till seven, and watched a Korean film, PANDORA. Kind of an over-the-top disaster film in which a nuclear reactor is damaged during an earthquake and a meltdown could lead to an explosion. Many men, and one man especially, gave their lives to save the nation- much wailing and weeping ensues. Over two hours and much could have been deleted.
11am I got a call that the tech would be in between 1pm and 4pm. I decided to walk to the postal box near Fairway and mail back SMASHED. 20" walk and I thought that this might be the only workout of the day.
Read BOTTOM LINE BLUES on the couch until the Van Dyke guy called at 1230pm and said he was a few minutes away. 145pm to 2pm to ascertain that they sent the wrong board. No charge and they'll call tomorrow to let me know what's going on. All he is certain of is that the board will not cost less.
Drove to FitClub; 230pm. 30" Walk. 3.6/0. 45" Recumbent Bike. 30" Super Cross(downstairs). 45" Cross. Legs/Chest. 30" Old Style Cross. Whirlpool/ kept right arm out of the water. Home 620pm- no reading.
Watched about an hour of JACKIE BROWN(A Miramax film; America is collectively reeling (?) from all the nasty revelations of that sexy cutie, Harvey Weinstein), then an episode of COLD JUSTICE, and finally, a LOUIE. For some unknown reason, LOUIE is no longer available for streaming beginning mid- October. Why?
