We 10/25/17- Black Moon/ Book Club

We 10/25/17

I CALLED HIM MORGAN wouldn't play (wonder why? Everything else worked), so I watched STICKY NOTES. Ray Liotta in one of his weaker roles; he's dying of cancer and convinces his 'wanna-be-LA-dancer-daughter' to come back to Florida and help him die. She does.....But, the last ten minutes redeem the film. The dancer's sister was actually all in her mind. 'Honey Bunny' was her father's impression of her when she was seven years old. I wondered what happened to this grade school girl when her father died- it was just ignored until the last ten minutes.

Only 35 degrees at 6am and temps won't get out of the high fifties; sunny.

Reading in bed 2am-3am; about Gonzalo Lira, the author of COUNTERPARTS. The next novel, ACROBAT, is also about his character,Nicholas Denton, but Lira seems to have given up fiction and now covers the financial markets. He also had a career producing movies creating and video games. I checked out his writing on a Russian backed blog called ZERO HEDGE (an unsecured website, but I was familiar with some of the articles- anti Clinton/Obama pro Trump/Putin). I imagine he's a far, far right-wing Chilean; maybe he still believes in the aristocracy and the divine right of kings.

Started I CALLED HIM MORGAN at 630am with no problem- Odd about last night's technical difficulties... The film was an excellent documentary about a legendary jazz trumpeter that was unfamiliar to me. The fact that he was shot by a jealous common-law wife because he had fallen in love with another woman sounds like a story right out of the blues lexicon; bled to death on the floor of Slug's Saloon in the middle of a gig; the next song was to be a tribute to Angela Davis and the ambulance couldn't reach him because of more than a foot of snow had fallen... Ballad of Frankie and Johnny, indeed!

Listened to some of his stuff on Youtube and it compares to 'One The Corner' and 'Bitches Brew'; supreme psychedelic-fusion-bebop!

On the PC about OUTLANDER till 1130am. Then, to Black Moon....

He was watching THE RIGHT STUFF; the old film about the beginning of America's astronaut program on Amazon Plus.

I arrived at Black Moon right at noon, and got out of the chair about 140pm. It looks great, and I've got another hour to go. He will do some work on the right elbow to draw the design together. He mentioned that he'll also include some color. And, I'm really glad that I had him highlight the old shadings on my forearm- it really is an improvement. $180, but I gave him two Benjamins.

I drove to FitClub West and was on the equipment by 2pm. 30" Walk. 3.5/0. 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. Just the leg machines. 20" Old Style Cross. Because it looked like that there was a lot of bleeding under the bandage (there wasn't), I decided to go home to shower.

It looks great and I think that the red highlights are really going to make this into a distinctive design.

535pm left for the library. Ann was on vacation, but we had six members. They didn't dislike the book, but I think that we all agreed that the TV series is the way to enjoy this novel.

INCARNATE from Netflix for tonight.
