Up 6am and slept all night. Watched all of CHASING TRANE and was surprised at how little I really knew about his life. I had thought that he was a lifelong junkie, but he was actually clean since the late 50's. And I had no idea that he only lived to forty.
Started the Korean film, BLUEBEARD, and around 730am I went outside to rake the front lawn- within five minutes I had lost all incentive. I'll call the guys and have it done for $75 when the rest of the leaves fall.
BLUEBEARD is one hell of a wild ride! Recently divorced colonoscopy doctor lives above a butcher shop, and he suspects that this shop is tied to serial killings that go back for fifteen years, but the last forty-five minutes of the film make the case that the doc is the killer. The last scene of the film switches suspicion again and we learn that the old man from the butcher shop was responsible for at least one of the murders.
Drove to the 'Y' 1215pm. The Round-About is still incomplete. 45" Walk. 3.5/0. 45" Recumbent Bike (DROWNING RUTH). 45" Cross. 30" Recumbent Bike (read). 30" Cross. 10" Steam Room. Stopped at the Walgreens on South Koke for a tube of hemorrhoid cream (six bucks- that stuff was a buck at the dollar stores, but I can't find it anymore. A drug is a drug....why the markup?
Home to read more of the novel and listened to Eno's THE SHUTOV ASSEMBLY; 45". Will watch WHERE THE DAY TAKES YOU. This film was much better than I expected, and I was happy to see that Roger Ebert rated it fairly positive. Dermot Mulroney is a very fine actor and I'm surprised that he's not more famous. He's actually more well known as a cellist????? (and once married to Catherine Keener), and I have the Netflix disc, ALLIED, the new Brad Pitt movie, for tomorrow morning.
