We 12/27/17
Up 5am (and out of bed and everything!). Temps far below zero and health warnings are out until mid morning. Only to the teens later, but sunny.
Wrote up DR. FUTURITY and then watched the Netflix disc that must have arrived after 5pm- had I not noticed the 'new' tracks in the snow, I would have assumed that there was no mail- GOOD TIME is the film (6am). Totally blown away! The guy from TWILIGHT (Robert Pattinson) was like a young Al Pacino in SERPICO or PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK. Two brothers, one mentally challenged (this actor is the co-director and he's superb in the role!), rob a bank, get separated, and the mentally challenged brother lands in Rikers, gets beat-up, and the brother rescues him from the hospital. But, he rescues the wrong guy; Black comedy mash-up with jolts of intense drama. The boroughs of NYC- 'down and dirty'.
Then, the first episode of "3%"- A Brazilian film about a distopian future where the 20 year olds are given one chance to make it into the 'safe world'- but only three percent will make it. too tired to really appreciate this one, but worth another look.
945am- reading on the couch- "Mulholland Falls"; finished the book in a couple of hours.
I called the radiology place and set up payment for the $8.51 on the Visa, and they'll send the receipt by mail so that I can turn it in to 'Your Spending Account'.
1pm at FitClub. 45" Walk. 3.7/0 (Upped the pace). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Octane. 45" Bike. 30" Old Style Cross. Legs/ Chest/ Biceps. Whirlpool.
Home to start SCARECROW- Michael Connelly and listen to a compilation from Sub Pop (45"), and tonight I'll start with INSIDE BLACK SABBATH on Amazon Prime. One beer on that (will come back to it in the future), and then started THE PARKING LOT MOVIE. And then.... only 20" on the parking lot attendants (but, I'll be back 'to that' sometime in the future), the rest of the first episode of DEADWOOD, and then another episode. There are some very fine character actors on this show- glad it's included on Prime!
