Up 630am; haze and a little fog early, then sunny and to low 80's.
Will watch Netflix disc, 'SUBURBICON'; another social commentary with Matt Damon. A ham-fisted attempt to develop two distinct story-lines; A black family integrates an all-white suburban development in the 1960's, and a man and his sister-in-law conspire to murder his wife and collect the insurance. George Clooney directs a film by The Cohen Brothers, but nothing could be more off the mark than this. It really makes you wonder what they were thinking.
Another episode of 'SAFE' (Netflix). Due to the complexity, just barely able to follow. I guess that's the appeal. Not Harlan Coben's best, but I'll see it through to the last episode.
11am reading. Will finish THE AMALGAMATION POLKA, then to Wabash PO and Planet Fitness.
120pm; on the bike to 'Planet/ PO'. 45" Walk. 3.6/0. (THE WIRE). 45" Recumbent Bike ('THE BOX GARDEN'- Carol Shields; I began this when I finished THE AMALGAMATION POLKA this morning). 45" Cross( another THE WIRE). 45" Bike (finished 2hrs of THE WIRE). 35" Cross (for some reason I had trouble with the earbuds; lost the connection, but after a reboot, Okey Dokey/ TRANSPARENT- the last one of the season).
Home to soak and listen to Bill Lazwell/ Miles Davis/ more Carol Shields.
'RAMBLIN' FREAK' (Amazon Prime) for tonight. This one turned out to be a pleasant surprise- another hipster, Lo-Fi ramble that was absolutely arresting. A young guy from Texas buys an old video camera and finds a tape in the machine. The tape was from a professional wrestler from NY who 'exploded his bicep', and he decides to travel to NYC and develop a movie about the wrestler. However, the story then evolves into an introspective look at the loss of his twin sisters who died from a deadly hereditary disease called, Epidermolysis bullosa (EB). Just a couple more days on Amazon, and I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to drop it, just yet. THE WIRE is so, so good.
