Tu 6/12/18- Dental Check Up; blood blister
Unbelievable downpour between 2-240am this morning. I awoke and finished 'THE SILENT GIRLS'. No water downstairs when I went down with Buddy's food dish. Humid, chance of rain late this afternoon, to upper 80's.
Finished Netflix disc, 'HOCKNEY'. The comparison to Warhol is obvious, but Andy was much more of a 'personality', whereas David was a 'philosopher'.
Began 'ALL OR NOTHING' (Amazon Prime) A biopic of, 'AUGUST CHRISTOPHER', the hardest working band that not many know about.
935am; shut it down to prepare for the visit to the dentist.
The teeth cleaning visit went great, until she noticed a fairly large blood blister on the bottom of my tongue, and , No...I don't remember when this happened. My dentist came in to check it out and said it's probably a 'varicose vein'....who knew? I have an appointment in two weeks to see if it has subsided.
On the machines at Planet Fitness by 11am. 45" Walk. 3.7/0 (PATRICK MELROSE). 45" Recumbent Bike (started Lawrence Block's-'HIT'/ The Pixies on My Music Amazon). 45" Cross (PATRICK MELROSE). 30" Walk. 3.7/0 (the second, 'MELROSE'). 30" Cross (More 'Melrose'). 30" Cross (Sam Jones interview with Aaron Paul).
Headed to Menards and I got paint/ rollers/ dish/ extension/ thermometer/ 2 bags of peet/ and a saw.
When I got home I cut down the two dead branches on the tree next to the driveway. This tree is old and fairly unhealthy, and if the branch removal kills it....so be it. The $8.99 saw was free because the rebate will pay for it in full. And, I talked with the neighbors across the street (guy with prostate cancer and his wife); they were on a walk. It took some elbow grease to get the limbs down, but I'm glad that I didn't spring for a more expensive saw.
6pm in the tub with a new book- Nick Hornby's novel about a number of young people ready to commit suicide and jump off a building in London on New Year's Eve- 'A LONG WAY DOWN'; The Lawrence Block is a short story collection, and I'm in the mood for a novel; 3 beers.
Another Netflix, THE STAIRCASE for tonight. At this point, it's apparent to me that the defendant hasn't got a prayer.
