Tu 11/6/18- ELECTION DAY; "Off to save The Republic"
Up 7am; Gray to mostly sunny, very windy, barely to 50.
Psyched for Stanley Kubrick and found 'BARRY LYNDON' on Amazon Prime. I thought I'd have to borrow from Hoopla.
Watched 'BARRY LYNDON'(Amazon Prime) Over three hours, but worth every second. This is the best costume drama that I think I've ever seen.
Then, two more episodes of 'HOMECOMING'- only one remains.
2pm- to the poll on Old Jacks and then to the 'Y'. Will check the situation on Fairway. On Sunday afternoon a tree limb fell and shutdown power for several hours. I saw many CWLP trucks on Sunday evening when I was returning from the workout and have been following the interesting discussion on Nextdoor Digest.
'Voter Suppression'?- Why would the VFW Post schedule some kind of lunch the same day that the site was to be used for voting? The parking lot was completely filled, and how many people just said fuck it- No place to park, No Voting For Me. It didn't take me more than fifteen minutes, but I'm pissed that I wasn't aware of the 'complete ballot'. Who were those judges and how come when I ran an Internet search, 'What is my ballot; 940 Westview Dr.'? I didn't get any hits. Every single fucking voter should know EXACTLY what is on the ballot before they enter the booth, and that ain't the way it was today. I'm going to send emails to the Democratic local to see why this isn't addressed.

'DEAR ZACHARY- A LETTER TO HIS SON ABOUT HIS FATHER' (Amazon Prime). A tragic tale told from the grandparents point of view. Doctor son is shot down and killed by a crazy girlfriend in Pennsylvania. She leaves for Newfoundland and fights extraction. She's pregnant, has the child and makes it difficult for the grandparents to have any contact with the child. Later, she kills her son and commits suicide. The movie is a valentine to how well liked this family was; worth a look.
