We 11/28/18- Contemporary Book Club at Six

Up 7am; single digits early, partly sunny and not quite to freezing.

Watched 'BLUE STEEL' (Amazon Prime) Jamie Lee Curtis and Ron Silver square off on the means streets of NYC- she's a rookie cop and he's a commodity broker turned serial killer. A moronic premise, but suavely executed; Kathryn Bigelow directs.

Watched part of a Youtube documentary about 'The King of Cannabis'- a pot entrepreneur from Amsterdam searches the globe for new strains of cannabis.

1045am- rereading 'A SPOOL OF BLUE THREAD'.
1239pm on the road to the 'Y'. 45" Walk (THE SINNER). 45" Recumbent Bike (read Anne Tyler/ The Flaming Lips). 45" Cross (THE SINNER). 45" Bike (read/ music). 45" Cross (THE SINNER); 3hrs. 45" Workout. Ten minutes in the steam room and it was kickin'.
Straight to the library. Different room (this is where Anne's desk is located)  because Anne's knees were so bad that she couldn't walk or even take the elevator to the third floor. This month's selection was not as popular with the group as I thought it would be; lukewarm at best, but I really liked it.

Home to watch a documentary on Netflix about Brian DePalma. Robert De Niro got his start with this director, not Scorsese. A handful of directors 'ran the table' back in the late sixties to mid seventies and delivered an amazing number of truly iconic and unforgettable films.
