Up 540am; coldest day of the year...so far. Cloudy and temps in the single digits early- high to be 14!!
Ordered two Henning Mankell novels on Amazon
Watched 'ALPHA DOG' (Amazon) A terrific True Crime film (Nick Cassavetes- dir.) about a group of suburban wanna-be gang bangers who kidnap a fifteen year old boy because his brother refused to pay a very large drug debt. The kid befriends his kidnappers, but they kill him anyway; star-studded cast Justin Timberlake (his first film), Sharon Stone, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, Harry Dean Stanton, and a very young Olivia Wilde.
Watched several YouTube videos about the film.
Then, 'I FEEL PRETTY' Amy Schumer/ Michelle William (she was a knock-out!!) Overweight young woman who lacks self confidence feels that she is magically transformed into a beautiful woman- she isn't, but the fact that she thinks she is changes her life for the better. When she loses 'the magic', her life reverts, but this is where the real transformation begins. Self esteem is a big issue, and the movie seemed to only scratch the surface. Michelle Williams' ditsy, baby-doll voiced CEO of a family owned cosmetics company blew all the other actors off the screen- including Amy Schumer!
115pm- The Weekly Cleaning, then to Planet Fitness.
On the machines a little after 2pm. 45" Walk (GOOD GIRLS). 45" Recumbent Bike (J. Wambaugh/ LUCERO). 45" Cross (GOOD GIRLS). 45" Bike (GOOD GIRLS- 3 episodes today). 30" Cross (UNBREAKABLE).
Home to switch books, 'EXIT WOUND'- John Westerman- a police drama set in 80's Long Island, and listened to a tape of DIRTY OLD BASTARD.
'ABDUCTED IN PLAIN SIGHT' (Netflix) In late 70's Utah a man is obsessed with a young girl. He is married and has several kids, and the object of his desire is part of a large and happy family. He has an affair with the mother, has sex with the father, and then kidnaps the girl....Twice!!! When explanations of his behavior to his twelve year old victim, Jan Broberg, involved aliens from a dying planet the story is almost too strange to believe, but I guess some psychopaths are just that good; a completely fascinating True Crime film.
Completely forgot to place the call to Elsie's House. Oh darn!
